I wanted to share this article that the president of World Vision wrote, he talks about the Syrian children and what they live in. You see we have been given resources over here in America, don’t try to deny it. We have a power, we have a power to ignore or to run into what is happening with the arms of Jesus and FIGHT for these kids, FIGHT for these people. They need us.
The power of Christ is compelled through His church; when His church comes together under the blood of Jesus, united as one, seeking the face of Jesus… that is when the power of Christ breaks through. [Ephesians 4] He has called us to be His vessels, He has called us to lay down our lives for the sake of the gospel and this doesn’t just mean one little area- no Jesus isn’t a God of miniscule surrender, (remember what Jesus did on the cross in surrender to His Father), He calls us to complete and total surrender of everything we are and everything we have to be used for His name. We need to wake up!!!
What does it mean to walk in the way of love?
It means taking the eyes off of ourselves, we are not the point here, the point of our lives is now Christ and to show others who He is, to love others with the love of Christ… and newsflash the love of Christ is not comfortable or easy, it is not a romance story.
Do you remember what Jesus said the greatest love is?
“Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13
That doesn’t sound too romantic or comfortable or all mushy and gushy to me, but that is the love of our Savior. He has loved us with a fiery, passionate, relentless, selfless love- a love that nailed Him to a cross. And we have been called to that kind of love, a totally selfless love.
How will you walk in the way of love today? Will you give of the resources you have to these children and families who are just surviving in Syria? Will you sponsor a child?
