Fear Vs. Faith

Today I was reading this little book my dad got me for Christmas called, “365 Encouraging Verses of the Bible for Woman.”I read this one passage today about how God can do miraculous things through us when we are willing; that is not through our power and capabilities but through putting our faith in Him and trusting Him to lead us, He can perform amazing things through us. The only hold up is that we have to be willing and ready, we cannot be afraid but instead we have to put every single ounce of our faith into Him. Which for some reason is so hard for us as human beings; when you really think about it, why would we want to hold back from the God of the UNIVERSE, why would we not put all our trust in someone who created the Heavens and the Earth, the one who knit us together in our mother’s womb, the one who knows every thought we are thinking and knows how many hairs are on our head; I mean I could go on for hours about that but I think you get the point. God is in control of everything and He is not afraid of anything, He already won the war, so why should we, as little tiny human beings, be afraid to have faith in Him. This reminds me of this quote someone showed me that really inspired me:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” – Marianne Williamson

Sometimes I think we need to take a step back from our worrying and little tiny fears and compare them to how big God and rethink why we were worrying about that.
